The Building of the Swimming Pool In August 2002 after 18 months of wrangling with planners, architects, etc, we eventually got permission to realise Ian's long time dream of a swimming pool. "That was the easy part", the architect said with glee. We thought he was joking - ha! We hired ourselves a baby JCB - a real life Tonka toy for the boys to play on - well I had a go too! Ian and Walter spent weeks down the garden plodding through the jungle and mud and in January we thankfully handed over to the real builders (sorry girls, not a builder's bum in sight) and gratefully I returned to my pinny and frying pan.

August 2002 Survey the land carefully		Choose a nice flat spot

Get the Mrs in to clear the land		Get in a builder to finish it off

Laugh insanely when you realise what you have started		Flop in a couple of buckets of concrete!

Build a few walls		Throw three or four girders across

Borrow a crane		Deep concentration from Nigel

Put on a roof		Your guess is as good as mine. They could be brickies

tiled 23rd June		conservatory entrance up

uh uhh! heres trouble		and what seems to be the problem?

and then, there is always one person you just cannot make excuses for . . .		. . . . a blue duck?
