Walking around Ambleside | Fresh air and great views, walk directly from our Ambleside B&B
Ambleside’s location at the end of Windermere [lake] and at the foot of majestic fells which surround it, make the town a pilgrimage for many walkers. We feel it’s so popular for a few reasons, but mainly as it caters for all levels of ability. We have short low level lakeside walks suitable for almost everyone – many even have a stop off at a cafe or pub where you can enjoy a pint of locally brewed ale or a hearty meal.
If you own gators, garishly bright waterproof jacket and a day sack, then you may be looking for something a little ‘more serious’. Opportunities abound, whether you fancy the Pike of Blisco, Great Langdale, Red Screes, Sweden Bridge or the many other walks in the locality.
All we ask is that you follow good form and let us know where you’re heading, ensure you’re suitably equipped for the forecast weather and remember that the fells are “not ours, but ours to look after”.
